The subject of investigation the gender differences in electronic (e-mail) public and private communication.

The aim of the work analyze the peculiarities and different styles of the language women and men adopt when contributing to e-mail discussion groups and holding private on-line communication

The objects of the research: the main factors to influence the language differences childhood experiences cultural and educational background social status reasons for motivation characteristic expressions of men’s and women’s language aggressiveness supportiveness, contributing ideas expressing opinions emotions

Childhood experiences of different language usage Boys taught to be solid and impassive play outside in large structured groups with aggressiveness and competitiveness (a winner and a loser) want to be the centre of attention and achieve higher status Girls trained to demonstrate greater feelings and cooperation play in small groups or pairs without winners or losers have closer relationship with other girls seek approval and popularity
