Each state has its own system of public schools. At the age of sixteen schoolchildren leave the elementary school and may continue their education at one of the secondary schools or high schools, as they call them. After graduating from secondary schools a growing number of Americans go on to higher education. After the first two years every student can select subjects according to his professional interest. Students must pay a tuition fee. The Americans place a high value on education.
Education in Great Britain In Great Britain children begin to go to school at the age of five. First they study at infant schools. At the age of seven English schools. If you have a look at an English pupil’s schools record, you will see that the marks in it differ from the marks we have.
At English schools there are marks from 1 up to 10 and at some schools from 1 up to 100. Junior school ends at the of 11 when pupils take the Eleven Plus examination and then secondary school begins. At the age of 16 schoolchildren take their exams. The rest go to work or join employment training schemes. Only 45 per cent continue with fulltime education after 16.
Education in Ukraine The system of secondary education in Ukraine includes primary forms and junior and senior secondary forms. Children usually go to school at the age of 6 or 7. There are soma preschool institutions, like nursery schools or kindergartens, but they are not obligatory. Primary forms comprise 1 to 4 forms. Junior secondary forms comprise 5 to 9 forms.
After the 9th form children can enter technical schools of different types. Those who want to enter higher educational institutions should complete 10 -11 forms. Students can also enter higher educational institutions after graduating from specialized colleges or lyceums. USA, Great Britain / Ukraine The programmer in the elementary school includes such subjects as Geography, History of the USA, Natural Sciences, Wand or Metal Work In Great Britain children at the age of seven do such subject as Natural History, French and Latin In USA after the first two of higher education years every student can select subjects according to his professional interest The National Government gives no direct financial aid to the institutions of higher education in USA. At English school there are marks from 1 to 10 and at some schools from 1 to 100. In Ukraine in the elementary school children learn to read and write, Math, Music, Russian Students can not select subjects in Universities, Institutes, Colledjes. There are lots of State institutions of higher education in Ukraine which receive financial support Our schoolchildren get marks 1 to 12.
