Michael Jackson was the greatest entertainer of all time. Jackson’s sound, style, movement and legacy continues to inspire artists of all genres.

Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana. He was the eighth of ten children in an African-American working-class family who lived in a 3-roomed house in Gary, an industrial city near Chicago.

Michael Jackson was the youngest and the most talented of five brothers whom his father, Joseph, shaped into a dazzling group of child stars known as the Jackson 5. In addition to Michael, the members of the Jackson 5 were Jackie Jackson, Tito Jackson, Jermaine Jackson and Marlon Jackson.

By 1984 Jackson was renowned worldwide as the “King of Pop.” His much anticipated Victory reunion tour with his brothers was one of the most popular concert events of 1984.

In an interview with Martin Bashir, later included in the 2003 broadcast of Living with Michael Jackson, Jackson acknowledged that his father hurt him when he was a child, but as he admitted his father's strict discipline played a huge role in his success. When Bashir dismissed the positive remark and continued asking about beatings, Jackson put his hand over his face and objected to the questions.

Starting in the mid – 1980s it became clear that Jackson’s appearance was changing dramatically. His skin tone became lighter, his nose and facial shape changed, and he lost weight. Despite obvious changes to his appearance, he had the pop icon denied he had extensive plastic surgery and blamed changing skin tone on vitilligo. But plastic surgeons were skeptical of those claims. They said it was the most unusual case of vitilligo. Jackson addicted to plastic surgery. He was not happy with the way he looked. He kept focusing on his appearance. It became the obsession.

Jackson’s eccentric, secluded lifestyle grew increasingly controversial in the early 1990s. His reputation was seriously damaged in 1993 when he was accused of child molestation by a 13-year-old boy.

June 25, 2009 Jackson died at the age of 51 years because of an overdose of medicaments. Side effects of medicaments are considered to be the very first version of the sudden death of the King of Pop. Michael Jackson stopped breathing after the last injection of pain medication.
