When we want to compare between two things we use ‘er +than’ Ali is taller than Maher. noun Verb to be Adj + er+ than noun Maher Ali Maher is shorter than Ali.

We use as +adj+ as to show that two things are equal. The yellow pencil is as long as the green pencil. Ali is as angry as Sami Can we say here the green pencil is longer than the yellow pencil? No , because

1- When we add er to the adjectives that end with Y we change y into i Spelling: 2- When we have a word that ends with a consonant /vowel / consonant we double the last consonant. 3-When we add er to the adjectives that end with ‘e’ we only add ‘r’: huge huger large larger
